This trail up the south side of Grande Mountain is shared by hikers and off-road vehicles. The beginning of the main trail is along a powerline, although there is a forested side trail for the first 2km that soon joins up with the main trail. The terrain consists of loose rock on dirt, so footing will not be the most stable. Poles would definitely help, especially on the descent. The grade is fairly steep the whole way, with one section that eases up before the steep summit push. There is also a side trail available for the final part to the summit which is a slightly easier climb with some shade. The views at the top are amazing, with many surrounding peaks and lakes in view, as well as the town of Grande Cache.
